Connecting aspiring pianists to acclaimed teachers and performers.

The Virtuoso Project is a specialist piano academy based in the UK. Our mission is to combine world-class tuition with sophisticated online teaching systems, allowing students of all levels to develop their full potential from anywhere.

Welcome to the
Virtuoso Project

“Born in India, I grew up in Bahrain where I found my passion for the piano. With the help and encouragement of a special teacher, I was fortunate enough to have access to renowned professors and artists in Europe during these formative years. This exposure was invaluable, and helped me to accelerate my learning and be inspired.

As a classical pianist now based in the UK, these early experiences motivated me to create the Virtuoso Project, an academy seeking to develop promising young pianists internationally, with the ease and accessibility of a virtual platform. Beyond this, we welcome students of all ages, online and in-person.”

Online Masterclasses

Our tutors are performers with international careers and teachers with many years of experience. Individual masterclasses give promising pianists the opportunity to receive holistic advice with a long-term perspective, as well as fine-tune their playing for upcoming performances or exams. Our team includes accredited examiners who can conduct mock exams and provide constructive feedback. A masterclass is an excellent setting in which to play to someone new, gain a fresh perspective, and be inspired. A student’s own teacher can be an important part of this, and we welcome their participation to discuss their student’s development.

Online Lessons

Our bespoke online teaching platform is designed to overcome many of the limitations of online learning, which, when done correctly, can be a superb alternative to conventional music lessons. Those without easy access to adequate live tuition can still nurture their talent with weekly online lessons at the Virtuoso Project, and anyone interested in the piano as an exciting hobby can learn from the convenience of their home. The online teaching format has its own possibilities and challenges, and the Virtuoso Project will help you make the most of this experience.

Live Lessons

We offer live, interactive piano lessons from our dedicated studios in Cheadle, Stockport. Our acoustically treated teaching spaces are equipped with grand pianos and designed to provide the perfect environment for focused, distraction-free learning. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced pianist aiming to develop your skills further, our tuition is tailored to your individual level and goals. To find out more, please get in touch, we’d be happy to discuss how we can support you to achieve your musical ambitions.

Our Setup

Operating from acoustically treated studios, we use a multi-cam setup with high-quality audio, acoustic instruments with virtual MIDI software, screen sharing from multiple sources and custom scene combinations so students can have truly productive and engaging interactions with tutors. These possibilities are always evolving, and we are passionate about the ongoing implementation of new capabilities.

Our Teaching Style

Our tutors believe in a personalised but holistic approach to teaching. No two students are the same, but everything in music-making is connected – expression and nuance, a fluent instrumental technique, an understanding of theoretical concepts and the interpretation of the score, improvising and composing. Shaping a unique approach, therefore, is vital to address all the facets of music and piano playing in the right proportion, to suit each student’s personality and their particular ambitions.

Community

Musical development works best in a wider context. As part of the Virtuoso Project, students will likely interact with different tutors, perhaps even other students, when group classes, performances or discussions are organised. We periodically hold webinars and group coaching sessions from other music professionals to further contextualise your development, and live student concerts where you can showcase your progress to an audience.

Our tutors set their own masterclass and weekly tuition fees. Currently, these range from GBP 65-75 per hour, for individual masterclasses. Standard weekly online and live lessons are GBP 45-55 per hour. Lesson length and content can be customised according to students’ requirements.
